Giving Greetings in Stationery Business Directory
Thank you to all the families, educators and therapists who have supported Giving Greetings. Giving Greetings donates more than $2,000 annually to deserving organizations and now, with thousands of cards in circulation, our message about supporting our children with communication challenges is being heard. My husband Peter and I lived and worked in the UK for more than three years. We have two beautiful children; our eldest child Graham was born in London with static enchephalopathy of unknown origin (the same mysterious condition as the now infamous Ashley). Despite many, many tests with specialists on both sides of the Altantic, the cause of his disability remains undiagnosed. Graham, now 11 years old, depends on assistive technology to help him move and communicate as independently as possible. He uses augmentative communication and picture symbols throughout his day to make choices and voice his opinions. Slowy but surely his interest in sharing with others is growing. ABOUT GIVING GREETINGS, It was in the UK that I grew to appreciate charity cards and found them difficult to obtain upon our return to the US. Creating and offering charity cards, and the excellent work of the organizations they support, is a cause I am now embracing with my company Giving Greetings. Giving Greetings offers a unique line of cards, gifts and books that support children with communication challenges. They make special gifts for teachers and therapists and fantastic items for your school fundraiser. I donate up to 20% of the sale of every greeting card to schools and selected charities who work with children with disabilities. Profits, if any, will help Graham to continue enjoying his therapeutic and recreational activities. Thanks for visiting. Randi Sargent, Founder, ABOUT SYMBOLIC SENTIMENTS PRODUCTS, Symbolic Sentiments is our exclusive line of cards, personal stationery and gifts featuring Mayer-Johnsons Picture Communication Symbols (PCS). Picture symbols are used by children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilites to communicate choices and express desires. This universal set of symbols is copyrighted and used under license from the Mayer-Johnson Company. To learn more about picture symbols, see the Info section. DEDICATION, This site is dedicated to our darling Graham for his brilliant smile and warm personality - he is our symbol of love and life. My sincerest thanks goes to the Mayer-Johnson Company for having the foresight and knowledge to create such a needed and useful visible language system.
