The Poisoned Pen in Stationery Business Directory

 

A childhood in Chicago, college in California, and careers across the US were great preparation for a life in crime. I abandoned librarianship for the greener pastures of the law, but when I retired to Arizona, I couldnt leave the books alone. So I founded The Poisoned Pen in October of 1989...and the rest is mystery. The Poisoned Pen has grown to be a mega-mystery store with an international clientele, two-shifts of employees, and an ever-increasing inventory and events calendar. Our incredible staff allows me time to read and review forthcoming books and publish the monthly Booknews. In January, 1997, I joined the faculty at Arizona State Universitys English department teaching Crime Fiction, but in 2000, the demands of editing for Poisoned Pen Press killed my teaching career. A lifelong mystery reader, I will tackle anything, preferring books with engaging characters or settings to those driven by plot. The Poisoned Pen staff is so diverse in its reading tastes, that we can truly direct our customers to the best and worst of the genre.
