Relatively Wilde in Stationery Business Directory

 

Our history goes back to 1981 with the opening of Category Six books in Denvers Capitol Hill neighborhood. Category Six changed owners and locations over the years, ending up at 42 S. Broadway in Denvers South Broadway District. Category Six identified themselves as A Gay Mans Bookstore, which unfortunately made parts of the GLBTQI community feel unwelcome and unwanted. In 2002, Marc Crouch and Ron Metz purchased the inventory from Category Six, took over their lease, and reopened as relltively WILDE. Marc and Ron felt strongly that relltively WILDE should serve ALL of the community rather than simply gay men. Over the years, they have encouraged and welcomed people from all segments of the GLBTQI and open-minded straight community to be a part of their store. Shortly after opening, they selected Paul Tichy of Appaloosa Business Services, Incorporated to design, host, and manage their web site and online store. Due to difficulties with the new owner of the building where they resided, along with skyrocketing rents in the popular South Broadway District, they decided to close their doors for good in August 2006. Because of his love of books and strong desire to keep the inclusive and welcoming spirit of relltively WILDE alive, Paul Tichy, the owner of Appaloosa, purchased rights to relltively WILDEs domain and online store along with some of the inventory. Pauls company, Appaloosa, which recently relocated from Denver to Portland, Oregon, now operates under the assumed business name Relatively Wilde and has relaunched relativelywilde.com and continues promoting the spirit of community that Marc and Ron worked so hard to build.
