Ive loved thoroughbred horses since the late 1950s when I would travel to Aqueduct from my home in the south Bronx. Under the tutelage of T.D., I learned to love all aspects of the sport, along with the traditions and history of the racetrack. Over the years Ive visited many tracks throughout the country. Although I now live in the Redwood region of Northern California, hundreds of miles from the nearest track, Im usually able to visit several tracks a year. Turfside: Sport of Kings and Queens grew out of my collection of books on thoroughbred horse racing. Ive added to the inventory thousands of back issues of magazines and we are continually adding information about these to our database.
