We specialize in gently used hardbacks, carefully selected both for their content and condition. We try to avoid book club editions, ex-library books or hurt books. Please feel free to browse or search our catalog for that book youve always wanted. While youre in, meet Samson, our shop cat. The Old Book Shop has been in business since 1990. We were formerly located in Independence, Missouri, now in historic Tubac, Arizona. The Old Book Shop is a family business, originally operated by Barbara Young and her daughter, Bonny Moseley. Barbara has been working in the out-of-print field since 1987. Bonny began working at the shop while she was still in high school, and began working full time upon graduating from college. To further their knowledge of the old book field, Barbara, her husband David and Bonny have attended the AB Bookman Seminar in Colorado Springs. Bonnys daughter, Katharine Grace (left), was born March 8, 2000 and began coming to work when she was 3 weeks old. Katie now helps her mother care for her baby brother in Independence, Missouri. (Grandpa is attempting to take her place helping Grandma in Tubac.)
