What is new about Used Book Central is our attempt to keep things the same. Our belief is that once consumers learn how to use a search process, they don’t want to change. And once dealers set up their system they should not be forced to change. Used Book Central was formed to restore the original discipline of online used book searches, namely simple, fast, and reliable searches for the consumer and affordable, easy to manage process for the dealers. We are building the core system to be free of frills, but to make options to dealers that will allow the system to be enhanced as much as possible. Our immediate objectives are to attract as many dealers to our system as possible so that we can offer a valuable selection to the marketplace, to make the searching easy and fast, and the ordering process as simple and secure as possible. Above all else, our long term goal is to provide services that will help our dealers be successful and grow to be the largest dealer network. We know to accomplish that, we must attract heavy order flow for our dealers, and keep the cost of the service free of commissions and extra work.
