Who We Are, An organization which reaches out to women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and a commitment to voluntarism. Women from every background giving their talent, energy, time and money to the educational and charitable activities of the Junior League to improve the quality of life in our community. What We Do, In fiscal year 2004-2005, the League spent over $234,000 in support of training, education and community services. The Community Program of the JLD contributes volunteers and dollars to direct service projects, grants, collaborations, advocacy and training around our focus area of the health and education of women and children. The JLD researches critical needs facing our community in the focus area of the health and education of women and children and collaborates with non-profit agencies to develop programs and projects and/or to make grants that respond to those needs. The JLD has long-term projects with agencies, and, under Community Outreach, has short-term programs to assist families with young children. In 2005, our Community Assistance Fund awarded two $20,000 grants to local non-profit agencies: ArtReach Colorado and Colorado Bright Beginnings.
