What the hell was that? Henry whispered to himself as he led Sam away. Come on Sam. Lets go home, he stated in a weak, stressed-out voice. He put the choke collar and leash on Sam and quickly walked across the meadow toward the trail. Nervously he glanced back at the woods, and an eerie feeling enveloped him. He panicked and took off running. Terror enveloped Henry as he ran. He didnt know what Sam had seen or scented, but he did know that it had the feeling of evil. A sensation he had not felt since he left the battlefields of Vietnam. Images of Vietcongs crouching in the steaming jungle flooded his mind. He thought he could see their shadows dashing between the trees and closing in on him. Henry forced his exhausted legs to run faster before the shadows overtook him. His feet pounded the ground as he yanked Sam behind him in his rush to flee from them.
