Have you ever heard the saying We plan, God laughs? This captures the essence of how our internet bookstore came into being. It didnt begin as our vision but the angels continued to encourage us with their soft whispers and amazing organizational skills! They have shown us the most interesting signs pointing us in this direction. One of the most humorous occured while on a trip to a nearby city. It was a double take moment! Brenda was in a seminar and wasnt really focused on the subject at hand. She was actually flipping through her daytimer for no particular reason and found a catalogue sent to her by a book club nearly two months earlier. Her mouth flew open and she had to take an immediate break ... upstairs she goes to find Deanna ... this is big, really BIG! she exclaimed, showing Deanna the advertising material which read ... Mrs. Jones ... Youve hit the jackpot! It was a light bulb moment! Up to that point we had been discussing the possibility of starting a bookstore but this sign was the icing on the cake . We committed ourselves then and there. Our plan was to develop a storefront or retail outlet for our wares. We deliberated about how we could do this, where would the funding come from, where would the physical location be? Then during one brainstorming session we pondered aloud wouldnt it be wonderful if we could, like Nike says, Just Do It! Sometimes its valuable to replay conversations in your head. After what seemed like the 47th time BAMM We can ... on the internet! The angels rejoiced at the successful transmission! Being willing subjects we purchased some books and thought we would attempt to become proficient at html, or proficient enough to design our own website! Ok, so each of us have our own strengths ... we found that ours is prayer. Dear angels ... help! Next thing we know we were inspired to post an ad on a beanie babies internet trading site ... who would have ever thought ... well, our Angelic Companions of course! Our post read: Need a website designed, have Beanie Bears to trade! Team angels were on it ... 1, 2, 3 replies! The third came with a glowing reference. Its true when your on the path doors just keep flying open ... or windows, as in Microsoft Windows. Thats what was happening with Brendas computer at this time. Did we mention that the signs were interesting? One thing is certain, the path is rarely straight but rather a meandering journey of discovery. It is joyful and adventerous when one does that which is true to their heart. We continue to watch and ask for guidance from the angels as we walk the path of our lifes work. We have named the bookstore Your Angelic Companion in honour of the support that we have received from our team of angels - those of the heavenly realm as well as those earth angels who have appeared just when we needed them. Without a doubt, angels are all around us!
